At the age of just 37, Mint was diagnosed with stage 2 lymphoma (cancer of the lymph nodes in the neck). Her physician was optimistic because at that point in development, her condition was susceptible to radiation therapy and high dose chemotherapy treatments.
At the time, such treatments had an above-average success rate, but the associated side effects could include possible loss of taste and smell, loss of saliva and other enzymes, inability to eat solid food, constant flu-like symptoms, and a range of issues that could be crippling to her quality of life. The symptoms can persist for one to three years depending on the individual, with some people never regaining certain functions.
Mint spoke about her concerns with a trusted friend, and was recommended to apply Sang Hwang extracts to wraps on her tumour sites before and after the chemotherapy treatments. Within one month of her treatments (which appeared to be successful), Mint’s olfactory and oral functions returned almost entirely to normal. Between the third and sixth month, Mint’s overall quality of health returned to similar levels as before her treatments.
